The Bavarian State Library houses the estate of the architect, whom I am studying.
The interior has an impressive stair hall.
Despite the limitations due to Covid, it was a nice change to be able to work outside of my room.
On Thursday Martin, Franz, and I made Tiramisu as an afternoon snack.
One of my floormates who had a birthday this week is from Freiburg, so I made her a drawing to remind her of home.
The other girl who had a birthday this week likes horses so I made this sketch for her.

As per usual, this week included working, hanging out in the Innenhof, running, doing yoga and playing darts, badminton, and ping pong. On Monday I had my best run of the year yet! One of my floormates even commented on my improvement. We had a group Gazpacho dinner on Monday followed by my first taste of a new drink, a Gin-Dudler. The beverage consists of gin and Almdudler, which is herbal lemonade made in Austria.

Tuesday evening turned out to be special, as most of our floor biked to Olympiapark and drank beers while watching the sunset. When we returned some of us watched a Champions League Semi-Final game. We watched soccer again the next night.

Wednesday was a notable day work-wise because I made it into the Bavarian State Library which holds the estate of the architect whom I am studying. I began searching through files, mainly old architectural drawings and sketches, to find the ones that are most useful for my analysis.

Thursday night’s post dinner hang out in the kitchen evolved into another Karaoke night, and somehow I have tricked my floormates into thinking I am a decent singer.

There were many festivities on Friday since it was one floormate’s birthday and another’s the following day. We enjoyed birthday sweets and, of course, beer, too. My knowledge of German music expands every time we have a celebration.

On Saturday I tried to balance my laziness with being active. While I did yoga, went on a run, and played badminton, I also did my share of sitting around, including FaceTiming with friends and watching Formula 1 Racing with some floormates. In the evening we also watched The Conjuring. Unlike when we’ve watched Star Wars, we watched the German dubbed version. Thankfully they didn’t mind watching with subtitles which are always helpful. I have to say that the dubbing seemed to add a degree of separation that made the movie less scary.

Sunday was a calming end of the week. I went to Mass with a floormate, played ping pong, ate pizza, and got to know yet another new floormate who just moved in!
